Vacation Over

Well we are back from a fun week at the house of mouse. I really enjoy our Disney get-a-ways! Breighton’s sleep schedule is all a muck and we are having a hard time getting him to sleep through the night again. We have begun a rigid sleep schedule… last night he made it until 5am before I needed to go FIX him. By FIX I mean flip his silly butt over and give him his Lumpy toy and then he falls right back to sleep. (He likes to practice crawling in the middle of the night… and he falls asleep in crawl position… Kinda silly looking… will post picture of it once we download the card from the trip) Lately he HASN’T been going back to sleep. He just wants to play… for HOURS!

Anyway, the vacation. It was fun because it really gets you in the holiday spirit. There was snow on Main St at the Magic Kingdom, the Osborn Lights at MGM, Christmas with Mickey Mouse. The weather was a little poppy the last day but we just relaxed and found random things to do.

David’s folks were there as well and we enjoyed dinner with them and park hopping.

All in all, Breighton did VERY well. He even woke up to watch the parade at 10:45 at night. He was very attentive and took it all in. He seems to be a child that likes to observe and think about things. He is going to be very bright… as long as we challange him… gets bored easily (like Mom and Dad!)!

I am looking forward to a nice family holiday. It is hard to beleive that Christmas is only 2 weeks away! Good thing we got our shopping done early… there wouldn’t have been enough time to do it all!

Today is catch up on laundry day (once David wakes up… 9am and he is still sleeping… I have been up since 7 with Breighton!) The joys of motherhood!

Remodeling

David did some remodeling of the blogs. I am quite pleased! 🙂 Fits my personality a bit better. Thanks!

BTW: Movie Recommendation = My Date With Drew

Todd thanks for that one! Great flick about the average man’s life long desire for a date with Drew Berrymore. $1100 and 30 days to make his dream come true. For a documentary it was great. But I might be biased because I am a HUGE Drew fan. That goes all the way back to the little girl in the closet with all the stuffed animals hiding E.T.

Oh yeah, I got an early Christmas present today… that David has already run off with. A Kodak V550 digital camera. I enjoy David’s camera but I really don’t use it because it is too big for me. This one is itsy-bitsy and really smaller than my cellphone. Can’t wait to steal it back from my techy-hubby and play with it! 🙂

David just came in and set it up on my puter and it is really easy to load the pictures to the PC, just one button! My kinda camera! So here is the first ever picture (that I didn’t take) with MY new camera!
(David just informed me that Kodak’s new marketing scheme is towards women and ease of use of products!!) OH BOY! Anyway, that picture…

Here’s Hunter!

Wow! He DID leave me the little plastic cover of film to peel off the camera! Thanks!

Update

So I haven’t been that on top of updating my journal the last week. Probably because we have been too busy for words. So lets back-track.
Thanksgiving was wonderful. We had a great meal and Breighton even took a little nap during the first part of the meal. For the most part uneventful but that is the way things should be. Nice and calm and relaxing way to enjoy the holiday.
Friday David joined Breighton and I for a PRIVATE Gymobree class. Only private because no one else showed up. Which I guess kind of defeats the purpose of the class. It is more for socialization and interaction for Breighton. But we had a fun time anyway.
Saturday we had a cookie marathon at David’s folks house. My mom and Thelma came over too. There were three Kitchen-aide mixers, two ovens and lost of rumbly tummies. Fun was had by all. Grandpa Howie helped watch Breighton and brought a smile to our faces when he helped feed him lunch. Breighton really enjoyed the playtime with him.
Sunday we cleaned the house a bit. Seven big bags of trash and a full dumpster to the street! Sad thing is, you can’t tell we did it because it was all things in cabinets. Although ours desks are really organized and de-cluttered now.
Monday David and I both came down with the icky cold. He is all congested and I am trying to fight it off the best I can. Breighton is a little congested but there isn’t much we can do other than keep him warm, fed and run the humidifier at night.
Breighton has been a pill the last few days and not wanted to take naps again. He has 3 good nights in a row and now he is back to waking several times during the night to “play”. I think he is teething more now as the drool is running like a faucet from his mouth.
I think that catches up the boring stuff. I promise I will try to do a better job of updating. Things have just been crazy and this is the first nap Breighton has really taken all week! (Save the one he took with David and me yesterday!)

PS. David keeps harassing me about y Christmas list. Honestly I can not think of anything else that I want! 🙁 Sorry!

Holiday Shopping

Wow! This is a first. I will not be partaking in the last minute Christmas shopping rush this year. David and I have finished all of our shopping, wrapped all of the gifts and even have the tree up! (David just informed me that we need to buy stocking stuffers for Breighton and a few toys for the kitties… oh well) Still better than I have ever done before!

Things have been hectic around here lately. Breighton is enjoying his Gymboree time as am I. I am enjoying the weather change, even though it won’t last much longer.

It is hard for me to think that I was working 40+ hours a week and still getting life done. The leaning tower of laundry fell over on me yesterday so I decided I would actually catch things up a bit! 🙂

Oh yeah, we DID get out to see the new Harry Potter movie on Sunday. It was my least favorite book but they did a good job with the movie. All in all… i was pleased. Breighton enjoyed some bonding time with Grandma Susie!

Kinda boring post… i KNOW!

Dinner Out

Last night we went to The Outdoor Kitchen store for a cooking class. Mom & Dad Reed had given us a certificate for our birthdays this year. Last nights theme was PORK! The food was very good and we learned a lot about grilling. It was my first time away from Breighton in over a month. B stayed with his grandparents and got to help Grandma cook. It is strange being out without him. I kept looking in the backseat of the mini-van and he wasn’t there! 🙁

Today we had our moms group at the park again today. Always a fun time. I finally found someone to whom we could pass the Christmas outfits we first bought for Breighton. They were size 3-6 and he is in 12 month. Chunker! Not really, just a good grower!

Tomorrow we go to the mall for Christmas photos for Breighton. I have been waiting for him to be able to sit up firmly.

That is about it just trying to stay occupied and out of David’s hair during the days.

*hugs*

Christmas Wish List

Dear Santa,

David said I needed to post a Christmas Wish List in my blog so you know what I wanted for the holidays. I too have been really well behaved this year. Since we are the type of people that BUY as needed it is hard to make a list of things that I want. Plus, these days it is more about Breighton.

Well here goes:

  • Jewelry box (mainly for hanging necklaces so the cats quit eating them [speaking of which, can you take Sneaky Pie????] )
  • Necklaces from “Brighton” (the store not the kid) at International Mall
  • I-Dog (regular size or mini)
  • Giftcard to Old Navy
  • Giftcard to Chicos
  • Giftcard to Happy Feet (on US 19…the Birkinstock place) (or black sandals from there!)
  • New quilt for the king size bed
  • Comfy jammie pants from Old Navy (size L in mens or XL in womens)
  • Baby seat attachment for bike
  • Scene It Movie edition (game)
  • Say Goodbye to Puzzle Clutter Jumbo Caddy (#12-c0705 from www.bitsandpieces.com)
  • Scarfs that can be worn as belts to accessorize a new mom’s stained wardrobe (Target has a lot)
  • Baby proof jewelry

Enjoy your travels around the world on Christmas and don’t forget to leave a gift for Baby Breighton!
Love,
Laurie

Ohio

Just got back last week from a trip to Ohio. Breighton met his Great Granny Allen.

He was very happy to meet her. For the first time ever Breighton combined his rolling to get from Mom to Great Granny. It was very cute and we were happy to share that “first” with her. He was excited to hear Great Granny sing Yankee-Doodle Dandy to him.

He was sad to go but glad he visited!
